Starfield, the first distribution facility in Korea to receive 'Well Health and Safety Assessment Certification'
Shinsegae Property, which has been making active efforts by putting the convenience and safety of customers and employees as the top priority, acquired the safety and health management system (ISO45001: 2018) certification for all Starfield business sites in December last year, followed by another international health and safety certification. Safety was confirmed in the field of quarantine and sanitation.
Shinsegae Property announced that Starfield's Hanam, Goyang, and Anseong branches have received 'WELL Health-Safety Rating' from the International Well Building Institute (IWBI).
The 'Well Health and Safety Assessment Certification' is an international certification for indoor health and safety, consisting of about 600 experts including public health experts, virologists, architects, designers, and architectural scientists to respond to the global epidemic of respiratory infections such as COVID-19. It was developed with the advice of the Task Force (TFT), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), and the American Society of Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
This certification was promoted to provide a pleasant and safe environment for both customers and employees. Starfield met the strict standards of IWBI that evaluates 24 items in 6 areas including sanitation management, health service, and crisis response system, and was the first among domestic distribution facilities and large shopping malls to acquire 'Well Health and Safety Assessment Certification'.
In the meantime, Starfield has established a systematic quarantine and hygiene management system and has continuously improved it. In addition, we have established a response process for each emergency situation and provided regular training to strengthen our crisis response capabilities. The fact that water and air quality are regularly analyzed and monitored also satisfied the evaluation criteria.
In addition, in consideration of customers with children or pregnant women who may be sensitive to scents, we have not missed every detail, such as replacing the soap in the toilets in Starfield with fragrance-free and low-toxic products, and the safety of cleaning and disinfection products has also been fully reviewed. In addition, the existing manual has been supplemented and improved so that it can respond more quickly and systematically in the event of a crisis to increase the degree of completeness.
Shinsegae Property CEO Im Young-rok said, "As hygiene and safety management of indoor spaces is more important than ever, we will continue to work hard so that all visitors can enjoy Starfield's various facilities with confidence through thorough management."
