신세계프라퍼티는 스타필드 수원 개점을 앞두고 수원특례시, 경기신용보증재단과의 유기적인 지역 상생 협력을 위해 ‘일자리 창출 및 소상공인 지원을 위한 업무협약(mou)’을 체결했다고 13일(목) 밝혔다.
수원시청에서 열린 협약식에는 이재준 수원특례시장, 엄창석 경기신용보증재단 전략부문 이사, 임영록 신세계프라퍼티 대표이사 등이 참석해 수원시와 스타필드의 동반성장을 위한 상호 협력에 뜻을 모았다.
이번 협약에서는 ▲수원 시민 우선 채용 등 지역 고용기회 창출 ▲소상공인 특례보증 재원 출연 및 소상공인 상생발전 사업 추진 ▲지역 특화 사회공헌 프로그램 진행 등을 적극 도모해 실질적인 지역경제 활성화에 기여할 것을 선언했다.
신세계프라퍼티는 2016년 스타필드 하남 오픈 이후부터 꾸준히 선보인 전통시장 활성화 프로젝트, 지역 예술인 지원, 지역아동센터 대상 문화체험 기회 제공, 지역 소외계층 후원 등을 통해 쌓아 온 지역 특화형 상생 활동 노하우를 십분 발휘해 수원특례시와 함께 성장하는 선순환 구조를 구축한다는 포부다.
먼저, 스타필드 수원 및 관계사, 입점 업체에서 신규 인력 채용 시 지역 인재를 우선 채용하는 등 직·간접 고용기회를 창출한다. 오는 10월에는 스타필드 수원 입점사가 참여하는 ‘스타필드 수원 상생 파트너사 채용박람회’를 열고 지역민에게 일자리를 우선 제공한다.
소상공인 경영 안정을 위한 실질적 지원도 아끼지 않을 예정이다. 어려움을 겪는 소상공인에게 직접적인 보탬이 될 수 있도록 소상공인 특례보증 재원을 출연한다.
이밖에 인근 전통시장 상인과 지역 소상공인의 의견을 수렴해 지역사회의 공감을 이끌어내는 특화형 상생 활동을 지속적으로 모색한다. 특히, 하남 신장시장 시그니처 메뉴 개발을 시작으로 4년째 선보이고 있는 신세계프라퍼티의 대표적인 지역 상생 활동 ‘전통시장 활성화 프로젝트’도 수원에서 이어간다. 상인들과 직접 소통하고 지역 특성을 면밀히 분석해 ‘화서역 먹거리촌 환경 개선’ 등 지역민이 실제 필요로 하는 다양한 활동을 맞춤 지원할 예정이다.
이번 협약을 계기로 수원시는 일자리 창출과 소상공인 경영안정을 위해 지원을 아끼지 않고, 경기신용보증재단은 소상공인 특례보증을 적극적으로 지원하는 등 힘을 보탤 예정이다.
